Role Summary
This is a management-level role responsible for the technical and operational management of a long-term strategic contract across Europe, with direct oversight of the Rotterdam and Malmö Service Centres.
The role combines Service Centre leadership with overall technical management of the contract, ensuring that all contract-dedicated equipment is maintained, serviced, inspected, tested, prepared and deployed to the required standard across multiple customer locations. The post holder will ensure both depots operate efficiently, safely and consistently, with a strong focus on asset availability, equipment reliability, technical compliance, service quality and operational readiness.
The role manages and delegates daily work across the Service Centre teams, ensuring equipment is correctly booked in, inspected, serviced, green-carded and ready for delivery or collection. It also provides direct and indirect technical support across the European critical power business.
The successful candidate will act as the technical lead for contract equipment, supporting deployment planning, maintenance standards, fault resolution, quality assurance, depot compliance and continuous improvement across both Service Centres.
Role Overview
The role is responsible for the overall management and Service Centre performance linked to a long-term strategic contract with a leading global technology client. The contract requires dedicated equipment to be maintained, prepared and deployed across multiple customer locations, and the post holder will ensure that all contract equipment is technically fit for purpose, fully operational, correctly documented and available to support planned deployments, maintenance requirements and customer commitments.
You will oversee the day-to-day running of the Rotterdam and Malmö Service Centres, ensuring that operational activity, technical standards, health and safety requirements, equipment servicing, inspections, repairs and readiness processes are managed consistently across both locations. This includes delegating daily work scope to the Service Centre team, allocating kit, booking in equipment, servicing, ensuring outbound jobs are allocated, and ensuring equipment is green-carded and ready for delivery or collection.
The role works closely with contract management, project engineering, logistics, field service teams, depots, suppliers and customer stakeholders to ensure contract equipment is correctly maintained, deployed and supported throughout its lifecycle. You will be expected to provide leadership, develop consistent depot processes, improve equipment availability and ensure all Service Centre activity supports operational delivery and commercial performance.
In addition to Service Centre leadership, the role provides oversight for contract assets, including loadbanks, generators, cables, UPS-related equipment, controllers, communications cables and associated critical power equipment. This includes responsibility for preventive maintenance, post-rental inspections, servicing, major repairs, equipment safety and support to clients across the EMEA region.
This is a hands-on leadership role requiring strong organisational skills, high safety standards, commercial awareness and the ability to manage teams, depots, equipment readiness and customer-critical requirements across multiple European locations.
Key Responsibilities
Contract Management
- Act as the lead for contract equipment across the European critical power business.
- Oversee the technical condition, service readiness, inspection status and deployment suitability of all contract-dedicated assets.
- Ensure equipment is maintained, repaired, tested and prepared to the required standard before deployment.
- Support the deployment, relocation and recovery of contract equipment across multiple customer locations.
- Provide technical guidance to internal teams regarding equipment suitability, readiness, fault resolution and operational risks.
- Ensure equipment issues are documented, escalated and resolved in a timely manner.
- Maintain strong technical visibility of equipment status, availability, faults, repairs, servicing requirements and readiness for hire.
Service Centre Management – Rotterdam and Malmö
- Manage and oversee Service Centre operations across Rotterdam and Malmö.
- Allocate and delegate daily work to Service Centre teams, ensuring priorities are clear and workloads are managed effectively.
- Oversee booking in, servicing, inspection, testing, repair and preparation of equipment.
- Ensure outbound jobs are planned, allocated and prepared in line with delivery and collection requirements.
- Maintain high availability of equipment by ensuring prompt booking in and turnaround of returned assets.
- Ensure equipment is green-carded, fully checked and ready for deployment.
- Maintain clear visibility of available, in-service, repair and unavailable equipment.
- Ensure consistent Service Centre processes, standards and controls are followed across both depot locations.
- Identify and implement improvements to increase efficiency, quality, asset readiness and depot performance.
Technical Standards, Maintenance and Repairs
- Oversee planned maintenance, preventive maintenance, inspections and repair activity across contract assets and the wider fleet.
- Ensure post-rental inspections are completed and all supporting documentation is correctly filed.
- Ensure servicing and major repairs are completed to the required standard before equipment leaves the Service Centre.
- Oversee loadbank checks, generator checks, controller checks, communications cable checks and PDI activity.
- Ensure LV cable maintenance, cable testing, continuity checks, phase rotation testing and related certification are completed where required.
- Support technical fault diagnosis and ensure corrective actions are completed and recorded.
- Ensure workshop tools, machinery, test equipment and consumables are available, maintained and used correctly.
- Ensure fleet assets, forklifts and operational equipment are maintained and pre-use checks are completed.
Health, Safety, Quality and Compliance
- Ensure all Service Centre activity is carried out in line with the company’s health, safety, quality and environmental standards.
- Ensure RAMS, permits, site-specific paperwork, risk assessments and safe systems of work are accurate, completed and followed where required.
- Ensure near misses, defects, incidents and safety observations are recorded, reported and closed out.
- Ensure COSHH requirements, fire alarm checks, fire extinguisher checks, first aid kit checks and eyewash station checks are completed.
- Support the development and implementation of standard operating procedures, risk assessments and POWRAs for Service Centre tasks.
Leadership and People Management
- Lead, support and develop Service Centre teams across Rotterdam and Malmö.
- Support the development, training and upskilling of engineers, technicians and depot colleagues.
Asset Readiness and Reporting
- Maintain clear visibility of contract assets across both Service Centres and the wider business.
- Ensure asset condition, availability, repair status, inspection status and service readiness are accurately recorded.
- Ensure returned equipment is booked in promptly to support availability and invoicing accuracy.
- Work with contract management and logistics teams to support accurate planning, movement and utilisation of equipment.
- Ensure asset records support operational decision-making and commercial performance.
