Overall Purpose of the Role
To proactively manage a European distribution hub supporting a blue-chip client across the EMEA region, reviewing and developing operational processes to meet client performance expectations and suggesting improvements where appropriate.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain operational practices that ensure all client expectations and service level agreements are met, recommending corrective action to improve service delivery where appropriate.
- Ensure site compliance and health and safety (both company and third-party logistics and storage provider), and that all necessary audits are carried out in a timely manner.
- Carry out daily activities to maintain effective rental fleet management and optimal stock levels, procedures and accurate data.
- Provide leadership, people management and development.
- Manage the third-party logistics and storage provider locally.
- Manage the client rental fleet through the appropriate company platforms, developing systems and processes as appropriate and guaranteeing that efficient and robust inventory controls are in place.
- Review with management on a regular basis the availability of requested assets from the total fleet for deployment to the client’s facility.
- Work to identify and prevent stock shortages, stock redistribution, forecast changes and fluctuations, and transportation interruptions, communicating suggested supplemental rental needs as required.
- Work to an agreed demand plan, in line with client activity, working alongside both internal functions (e.g. Supply Chain, Assets) and external stakeholders.
- Maintain stock accuracy, conducting root cause analysis on reported anomalies and investigating any areas of non-conformance, preparing recommendations for policy and process improvements.
- Manage and notify any issues, loss or damage to the assets identified at the most recent test, and request approval for any recommended repairs that must be carried out by third parties (in the event of extraordinary damage).
- Work to and maintain contract key performance indicators (KPIs), including reporting to the senior Energy teams as appropriate.
Reporting Relationships / Structure
The role reports to the General Manager, with direct line management of the Engineering and Administration team.
Knowledge, Qualifications, Skills & Experience Required
- Electrical engineering background / experience.
- Understanding of EU cross-border logistics.
- Exceptional leadership and people management skills, able to inspire and empower others, using motivation and coaching skills to drive performance through people and ensure talent is recognised and developed.
- Ability to build and develop solid customer relationships and nurture personal credibility with the client.
- A structured and organised approach to planning and organisation.
- Solid commercial acumen and financial understanding.
- Demonstrable success in working to deadlines and delivering results on a regular basis.
- Confident in the use of IT as a key business tool.
- A strong logistical background and asset management experience.
- Experience of ERP systems and automatic replenishment programmes.
- Strong data and analytical skills.
- Strong level of product and technical knowledge in the given product specialism.
- Fluent in Dutch and English.
- EU passport.

Special Factors
- Travel throughout the EU, UK and US as necessary. Some overnight stays may be required.
